Jonathan has been creating gallery and commissioned artwork while also creating highly successful video games for over 30 years. He has been a highly regarded teacher across a range of educational institutions ranging from NC High Schools, East Carolina University, along with popular workshops in various venues in Raleigh. He even taught the first ever digital figurative painting class at the Art Student’s League in New York.
By luckily breaking into the video game industry right out of college, Jonathan has worked at several gaming studios over the past three decades. These include Red Storm Entertainment/Ubisoft, Bungie, Vicious Cycle, Boss Key, Squanch Games, Atomic Arcade, and Epic Games. Jonathan served in pivotal art director, UXUI, and production roles across numerous successful titles such as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, Ghost Recon, Halo 3, and more recently on Fortnite Battle Royale.

2013 MFA Painting and Drawing, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC
Thesis research integrated digital tools and software into the traditional painting studio environment. I developed a curriculum that leverages both processes in order to expedite the speed and clarity of instruction for faster skill development for the individual student.
